For My Next Trick …

“Every year on your birthday

you get a chance to start new.”

~ Sammy Hagar

That’s exactly how I feel about birthdays. It’s a chance for a fresh start, to turn the page and write the next chapter of my life.

My birthday came and went a few weeks ago. It was glorious and definitely fabulous. But I can’t ignore the fact that, although I may still be young and fabulous, I’m no longer fifty-five.

Since this blog is all about being fabulous at fifty-five, I’m now facing a bit of a dilemma. Do I change the name, and create a Fab Fifty-Six blog? Hmmm, doesn’t have quite the same ring to it, does it?

Having this blog over the past year, and the goal of crossing fifty-five items off my Fun List, really motivated me to get out there and get active. There are still plenty of interesting things left on my list and I have no doubt that I will make them happen. I’ll continue exploring and having adventures well beyond that too.

I haven’t gone up in a hot air balloon yet. That’s something to look forward to. And I do want to try speedskating sometime. Plus it’s been a lifelong dream to learn Irish (and play the bodhran – the Irish drum). So I’ve got lots to keep me busy.

It’s been fun sharing my adventures and misadventures with you, and posting photos and memorable quotes. In fact, knowing that I had to have something to tell you often spurred me on to take even greater risks (and have more fun) than I might have otherwise. So thank you for the motivation! I hope you’ve found some inspiration (and maybe a few chuckles) along the way.

As for what’s next? Stay tuned!
