Try, Try Again!

For those of you who have been following this blog for a while, you may remember that last winter I planned to take skate skiing lessons. In fact, it’s item #12 on My Fun List.

However, last winter was the winter that wasn’t. We had almost no snow where I live, and what little we had came on the weekends, only to vanish by Wednesday nights when the skate ski classes were scheduled.

I decided to try again this winter. We had a good snowfall last week and lessons start tonight. As I write, the sun is out, a warm wind is blowing, and the snow is melting, melting, melting …

We’re also forecast to get rain this afternoon. Is this a sign of things to come? I hope not.

Fingers crossed that the lessons will start tonight. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with this photo (of classic skiing) and video of skate skiing from a week ago. Please keep in mind, as you watch the video, that it’s only the third time I’ve ever tried skate skiing 🙂
