Celebrating 56!

For the last month or so, I’ve been rather discouraged, and I’ve been looking for inspiration. The extra weight around the middle isn’t going away. I have less and less energy or desire to do anything that requires exertion. I overindulged during the holidays. And have spent a lot of time being sick with a never-ending cold.

Inspiration? Bring it on!

I found what I needed in a great article in HuffPost 50. The author, Barbara Hannah Grufferman, recently turned 56, just like me. That’s what first caught my attention. And the photos showed a pretty hot woman who actually ran in the New York Marathon to celebrate her 55th birthday. Whoa!

Now, I have no intention of taking up running, or running a marathon, but I was intrigued enough to read what she wrote. And I liked the idea of taking charge of my health. She offered simple ideas that seemed manageable to me and suddenly I thought, “Hey, I could do this.”

So, here’s to being 56, and getting back in the driver’s seat! Lookin’ good, kid!

Bring it on!

Adventure? Bring it on!
