My Fun List

For my fifty-fifth year, I created a list of 55 things I’d like to do. Here’s the criteria for items on my list:

  1. fun
  2. challenging in some way
  3. feed (or awaken) a passion

Here’s what I came up with (in no particular order).

  1. learn another language (Mandarin or Irish) 🙂
  2. have a makeover done 🙂
  3. learn how to build a dry stone wall
  4. participate in Rocktoberfest 2012
  5. take speedskating lessons
  6. take a hot air balloon ride
  7. have a weekend away with my best friend from childhood 🙂
  8. drive a BMW sport convertible  🙂
  9. learn a flamenco solo to “Dreams” by Juneyt
  10. perform my flamenco solo in public
  11. have fabulous Fridays (take the day off to do something fun and funky) 🙂
  12. take skate skiing lessons 🙂
  13. go to circus school 🙂
  14. charter a sailboat for 1-2 weeks
  15. take ballroom dancing lessons with my partner
  16. go to Costa Rica to meet up with a friend who’s cycling from Yukon, Canada to the tip of South America 🙂
  17. learn to play the bodhran
  18. go rock climbing 🙂
  19. do some kayaking
  20. brush up on my Russian
  21. go on a cycling trip of at least 20 km 🙂
  22. take a moonlight paddle (canoe or kayak) down the Grand River 🙂
  23. read a book in another language 🙂
  24. try one new recipe each month 🙂
  25. make my own hula hoop 🙂
  26. take a hooping class
  27. be carded (asked for my I.D. to prove I’m eligible for a senior’s discount)
  28. taking fencing lessons
  29. have a bath in the middle of the afternoon 🙂
  30. take a nap (whenever I feel like it) 🙂
  31. try rock climbing outdoors 🙂
  32. climb a tree 🙂
  33. learn to quilt with Dee
  34. test drive fun cars 🙂
  35. have some good times with my daughter 🙂
  36. have some good times with my son 🙂
  37. take up a hobby or craft 🙂
  38. teach something new 🙂
  39. jump off a boat and swim in the ocean 🙂
  40. ride a horse in the countryside 🙂
  41. hike in the rain forest 🙂
  42. go to a spa (and have a hot stone massage) 🙂
  43. walk across a swinging bridge with ease (and grace!) 🙂
  44. walk behind a waterfall 🙂
  45. explore a road less travelled 🙂
  46. take a spontaneous adventure 🙂
  47. go go-karting (preferably with my kids!) 🙂
  48. sleep overnight on our sailboat 🙂
  49. be in Port Dover for a Friday the 13th biker gathering 🙂
  50. enjoy an Arbor foot-long, Golden Glow and fries 🙂
  51. make some memories 🙂
  52. take a drumming class 🙂
  53. be pampered 🙂
  54. re-read a favorite book from my youth 🙂
  55. do something I’m sure I cannot do 🙂

As I crossed things off my list, I gave updates in my blog (Musings) and posted a few photos (to prove I’d actually been there, done that!)
