#38 Teach something new
In my last post, I mentioned that I would be co-teaching a weekend workshop with a good friend. It was a new experience for me because it was something neither of us had taught before – Celtic Reiki. We had been well trained over the past two years by the founder of this Earth-based form of Reiki, and had decided it was time to put our skills and knowledge to the test.
Although I have taught and facilitated many courses and workshops over the years, this experience felt special. I was excited to begin yet nervous because you never know what will happen in a 3-day session. Every day is different, and the experience is always influenced by the people who are participating.
It was an amazing weekend. There were ups and downs, times where participants had profoundly life-altering experiences, many moments of laughter as well as some tears. It was challenging yet flowed with ease. It was uplifting yet took us all deep within. It was everything we could have wanted, and so much more.
For me, it was a reminder that I do love to teach. For me, teaching is about sharing what I’m learning, and in the process of sharing, I learn even more.
And isn’t that what life is all about? Learning, growing, sharing, learning, growing, sharing …
Isn’t life grand?
